About the Designer

Alan Garren, ASID, based in Bath, Ohio, is a residential and commercial designer specializing in space planning and architectural detailing with concern for creating a functional, comfortable and attractive environment for his clients.

Garren’s interior design career spans nearly three decades and has earned him various awards including a national lighting award and a national environmental award in collaboration with a local builder. Additionally, his work has been recognized by the American Society of Interior Designers with thirteen “Interior of the Year” awards.

Alan Garren’s work has been featured in The Chicago Tribune, Miami Herald, Charlotte Observer, Atlanta Journal Constitution, Cleveland Magazine, Northern Ohio Live, West Side Leader, Akron Beacon Journal, the Canton Repository, Kitchen and Bath Design, Bath Country Journal, Spectacular Homes of Ohio and Pennsylvania and “Shingle Style” Home Plan Book. He has conducted lectures covering such topics as “How to Work With an Interior Designer”, “How to Photograph Interior Projects”, “How to Design a Media Room”, “Residential Lighting in Interior Design” and “How Interior Design Can Impact the Environment”.

A professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers, Alan is NCIDQ board certified. He has served on the ASID, Ohio North Chapter’s board of directors and the advisory board at Kent State University where he also taught a senior design course. He is currently on the board at Cuyahoga Community College. He has also served as a guest lecturer at various colleges.
